Karl Schwartz, CPA, CFP®

As the leader of our firm’s financial planning committee, Karl helps our planning group continually improve the skills, knowledge, and processes we employ in helping our clients map out their financial futures, even as he does this work every day for his own clients. His exceptional technical knowledge and leadership skills, combined with his dedication to serving his clients, ensured his rapid advance to Senior Financial Advisor and then Principal.

After starting his career as a CPA with a large regional tax firm, in 2008 Karl followed his true calling and joined us to become a financial planner. His tax background, combined with his deep experience in planning issues, makes him uniquely qualified to lead this practice area and keep us at the forefront of best practices for larger, more complex clients.

Naturally, Karl writes articles on various financial topics for the firm, and some of these have been featured in publications such as Morningstar, AdviceIQ, and ExpertBeacon. In 2014, Karl was honored with an invitation to participate as an expert panel member for the inaugural National Financial Advisor Week in Times Square, New York City.

In his free time, Karl enjoys fishing and playing sports with his three children, spending time at the beach or in the ocean, snorkeling and scuba diving, and watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs.

SHOOK Best in State Advisor

Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years’ experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Neither Forbes or SHOOK receive a fee in exchange for rankings. View Patrice’s full Forbes profile here.
