Carolyn Kelly, CFP®
If there were one word to describe Carolyn Kelly, it would be inquisitive. Call it a product of her background in sociology or her passion for problem solving, but it’s Carolyn’s impeccable attention to detail, genuine curiosity and positive nature that have come to define her approach to financial planning and client service. No matter what their goals may be, Carolyn is ready to answer the tough questions for her clients and is committed to providing clarity and confidence around their most important financial decisions.
In addition to core planning work for her family clients, Carolyn especially enjoys working on retirement planning for small businesses, using her broad expertise to help companies maintain plans that are both cost-effective and compliant. Are the business owners fulfilling their fiduciary duties while maximizing their opportunity to contribute to the plan and achieve substantial tax savings? Does their retirement plan offer value for their business and employees? These are some of the issues that Carolyn helps her clients tackle, and she helps ensure they are making financially sound decisions for their business and workforce.
In 2013, Carolyn joined our team as an Associate Advisor, where she has since earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation and worked collaboratively with estate, insurance and tax professionals to help create effective financial plans with her clients. Previously, she worked as both a Sales Assistant and Client Operations Manager for the Private Client Services Division of DZH Phillips LLP, a regional CPA firm.
Carolyn attended University of California, Santa Barbara where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She has used this degree to gain a better understanding of investor attitudes and behaviors which is a valuable resource in helping clients navigate their own roadblocks and keeping them on the pathway towards retirement.
Carolyn is native to the Bay Area and loves spending time with her extended family in Santa Rosa, Dallas and Nashville. She also enjoys taking advantage of the local scenery, parks, trails, finding creative art projects and continuing her search for the perfect enchilada!
